I know that when I first read the brief I wanted to create a typographic piece that would display a quote of some form that relates to the idea of dialogue and conveys this meaning but in a subtle way.
Must remember that it must be a visual which works in one colour and be able to collaborate with others so negative space will be key.
Idea one
To display the quote 'Every headline sparks conversation'
The visuals of this will be created from various newspaper letters to make up the quote as this is directly linked to the meaning of what is being said. It is a general quote that could be understood by a large audience and could work with any image which it could be collaborated with. I have a worry that this will look like a typical ransom note visual. This would have to be halftones to comply with the brief else the scanned effect will not be shown.
Idea two
To display the quote 'Un-captured dialogue within every memory'
This visual will use an old photographed imagery that provokes the idea of memory in a visual form. The quote would be added in a simple font so that it could still be easily read when collaborated with another design. Hopefully this idea would spark conversation about past happy times and be more personal to the individual. The photo choice would have to be thought about carefully so that it would provoke the right sort of dialogue- one which is positive and happy.
As this is a quick brief and one which I want to complete within a day I think I will explore idea one first as this I feel will produce the stronger visual that will answer the brief better because it will provoke conversation, is well related to the question being asked and will have interesting production values. Now its just about the production and then go from there.
