Our concept was to create a checkerboard visual on the flag to show the marriage of opposing things and the collaboration to make one, essentially what the brief asked us as a pair to do. We decided that this element of the design would be produced digitally with the use of Photoshop. With the software we was able to adapt the layout and colour of the separate images which we have scanned in to make the checkerboard. We eventually decided on a red and blue colour scheme to represent the British aspect of us as the designers of the flag and the colours are apposing on the spectrum as to differentiate the two elements as much as possible for the concept to work better.
Once we was happy with a layout and colour scheme Josh went ahead and booked a digital fabric printing slot with plenty of time to mail out for the exhibition deadline. As Josh went to the trouble of printing I was to handle the mailing.
