Dr ME- Research and ideas.

Myself and Josh first set about by thinking of possible directions in which we could take the flag and its content. After much deliberation we settled on an idea of being able to visually show collaboration in the content as this was the process that we was taking in its production.
To do this we looked at items that are commonly linked together and associated with one another. We wanted the content to reflect us personally but also work together as a known pair. Such as cat & dog and fish & chips. We wrote these out first and then worked on producing icons similar to the research which we found, shown below. This was a quick process as Dr ME encouraged that we focussed on different production methods and got out of our comforts zones so we have tried to embrace this as much as possible.
Another idea that we think might work at this stage is to create a patchwork or checkerboard effect. This is to highlight the idea of two elements collaborating together to create one overall image. This could also work well to marry our two styles and all the outcomes together.

The research that we looked at was all based around icons especially those that appeared more hand crafted as this was most likely the approach which we was taking with the production. Again this was a quick process so that we could focus our attentions on the production of the individual images plus we already know what each item looks like as we have chosen ones which are familiar to us.
From this research we took that the visuals needed to be kept simple in order to be crafted easily and we could use colour and texture to add details to make the images recognisable and stand out.
