80s channel- Website and player development.

I have begun to do development for the website and online player based on the initial sketches which I completed earlier. I worked with the colour palette decided upon in the brand identity stage too. This was the main element to give an 1980s aesthetic without being too over the top and garish as it still needed to suit the needs of a 21st century audience. I recognised this to be the ease of watching the shows without distraction around the screen and to navigate easily through the site.
I have found this year that designing a website is similar to designing for print in that a grid system and layout should still be used. So with this brief, although my practice isn't really digitally focussed anymore, I could still develop techniques that will help with designing for print formats.

Main aspect to focus on was the navigation for audience user-ability before adding the content of the shows and details of those. Navigation is key.

As I am still designing for a 21st century audience I have considered how social media now effects sites. I have included the icons to suit this audiences needs even though they weren't available in the 80s. After this was sorted I had a frame to work with and add in content. For this I took inspiration from other players already existing.  Visuals of the show are a main feature of all of these as this is the first thing which the audience uses to recognise the content they want.

Now I have a basic content frame set I added the photos of the 80s shows and it began to come together. A lot of development is still needed and content needs to be added but the final visuals should come together easy enough now this main part is sorted. I have showed the hierarchy of importance well in this layout.
