During the year I have collated a folder full of random inspirational pieces of design and print from various sites and blogs. As the publication needed to be a reflection of my practice and the context of it I thought that it would be only fitting to look back at this folder and be inspired from there.
The publication research which I found has inspired my design direction now massively. Within my book I want to look at a variety of sizes to display content, also how the book folds and is handled. The inclusion of small thinner pages as subtle section dividers to break up content. Maybe look at a series of books that work together with one over riding theme.
After this researching I have begun to think of the concept of my publication and the other inspiration I have collected within this folder. I have noticed that my practice is informed by typography, brand and print so these will be the main themes across the whole publication. Type principles such as the anatomy of type will be the basis of everything and my practice in general. This is something which I want to use to name the publication to suggest this is the basis of my practice, highlighted in the style of binding too.
